Announcements

  1. There will be a Rabies Clinic for dogs and cats, held on Wednesday, Wednesday, May 15th from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at the Town Highway Garage, 52 Clearwater Road, New Paltz.  Vaccinations for rabies are $15.00 each and will be administered by Dr. Laurie Stein, the traveling veterinarian.  Heartworm medication is also available.  Rabies certificates will be presented at the completion of the vaccination.  These certificates are essential for licensing dogs where they reside, as required by NYS law. 
  2. It’s not too late to order your No Mow May sign!  Contact assistant@townofnewpaltz.org or place your order on the Town website.  There’s a limited number of supplies.

  5. Approve the hiring of Lanasia Dorsey as a part-time police officer effective May 6, 2024 at the rate outlined in the collective bargaining agreement
  6. Authorization to approve submitting the creation of a new position of Deputy Assessor to the county for the Assessor’s Office
  7. Authorization to approve the following people as 2024 Moriello Pool Staff, at their assigned rates for the 2024 pool season from May 19, 2024 to September 7, 2024

Pool Staff and Salaries 2024

  1. Authorization to approve spending down ARPA funding in 2024
  2. Authorization to approve the agreement between the of New Paltz and Whispering Pines, allowing Whispering Pines to store equipment and material for the Henry W. DuBois bike like project at Veterans Drive (old Town Hall site).  Whispering Pines will be responsible for fencing, site security, dust control, and complying with the Town’s noise ordinance of 7:00am – 6:00pm.  There will also be a grace period for reclaiming the area if needed due to weather conditions
  3. Authorization to approve a resolution authorizing the Town Board of the Town of New Paltz, Ulster County, NY to expend up to (I) twenty-six thousand four hundred dollars ($26,400.00) from the Town’s Building and Grounds Truck Reserve Fund to pay for the acquisition of a maintenance truck, (II) forty-four thousand three hundred and two dollars and seventy-eight cents ($44,302.78) from the Town’s Highway Reserve Fund for the acquisition of a maintenance truck, and (III) nine thousand two hundred dollars ($9,200.00) from the Police Department Vehicle Reserve Fund for a police vehicle, subject to permissive referendum
  4. Request authorization to modify the 2024 adopted budget for the following:

  5. Authorization to approve the petition to establish an extension of the New Paltz Sewer District No. 6 in the Town of New Paltz
  6. Authorization to approve replacing and installing a new Power Board for VFD (VLT Aqua Drive) at Moriello, in the amount of $5,000.00, this includes a new Power Board ($4,000.00), shipping, and labor to diagnose the issue and install the new board – the pool cannot run without a new Power Board. This item is included on the Moriello Pool Capital Improvements (B Fund) list for Capital Improvements shared with the Village
  7. Authorization to approve replacing the VFD at Moriello Pool
  8. Approve the Police Commission’s recommendation to hire Tyler Pece as a provisional sergeant at the starting sergeant salary outlined in the collective bargaining and credit for time served as full-time civil service status of police officer for longevity, and leave accrual purposes
  9. Discuss ideal community solar sites and grant applications
